Immigration & Naturalization Program
Tuesday, 06.23.2009, 07:02am

IACO assist new immigrants to establish their legal status in this country, reunifying their families, and helping them with the naturalization process

This program was created to assist American citizens and Legal Permanent Residents in the process of family reunification; and to help immigrants, in general, to understand immigration laws and to guide and assist them in immigration procedures at the USCIS and related agencies and departments.  The program further seeks to guide these immigrants in their processes to legal residency and eventual naturalization.

The program also seeks to provide viable and affordable options and representation for the immigrant population, which is susceptible to being taken advantage of by swindlers seeking to profit from the immigrant population’s lack of information

The purpose of this program is to timely inform the general public about the regulations, procedures and changes that affect the stability of immigrants and their families, as well as to orient the community in general regarding the different subjects of common interest. To attain this goal, our clients receive instruction on immigration laws, regulations and procedures that rule this country.  The program assist them in their immigration needs and prepare them so they can take advantage of the opportunities that this multicultural society offers.

IACO, with its Spanish-language magazine “La Guía del Inmigrante”, has provided a bridge to the Latino community by informing them about various topics of the most interest to the Latino community, such as the need for foster care and adoption of Latino children, domestic violence and environmental alerts, among others. “La Guía del Inmigrante”, is published on a bimonthly basis and distributed free of charge to our members, and more than 100 community agencies.

One of the most important activities of our organization in the community is to carry out informative seminars, addressed to the general public, with the participation of specialists in different subjects such as taxation, immigration and social services.
